Air Source Heat Pump Installation
Air Source Heat Pumps are a renewable natural source of heating and are efficient in both the winter and the summer as they are still able to work when the air temperature is as low as -15c. Although they require electricity to run, because they are extracting energy from the environment and the heat output is greater than the electricity input, this will lower your carbon footprint.
An air source heat pump will be installed outside your property. They look similar to air conditioning external condensers. They take in air from outside and absorb the heat into a liquid refrigerant, this refrigerant then passes through the compressor which compresses the liquid to increase the temperature. This then condenses back into a liquid of a higher temperature which then transfers to the heating system of the house. The remaining liquid is stored in a hot water cylinder which heats your water system which can then be used as showers, baths and taps.
Benefits of Air Source Heat Pumps
Eco-Friendly
Reduce your heating costs
Energy Efficient by reducing your carbon footprint
Low Maintenance
Long Lifespan
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) approved
Easy to Install
You could receive payments through the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). This is a scheme formed by the UK Government to encourage people to install renewable energy technologies. Payments are made quarterly for 7 years and are based on the amount of renewable heat made by your system.
The RHI has 2 schemes, Domestic and Non - Domestic.
